AUDITIONS/CALLBACKSTHE WAY OF THE WATER AUDITIONS: American Stage is seeking 4 actors in their 30's (2m/2f) for a reading of Caridad Svich's new play, THE WAY OF THE WATER which will receive one public reading at American Stage on Saturday, April 28, and one previous rehearsal tbd). THE WAY OF THE WATER addresses the two-year anniversary of the Deepwater Horizon BP oil spill and its aftermath and its effects on human health and the environment in the US Gulf region. American Stage Theatre Company’s 2012-2013 Season WIT by Margaret Edson will be directed by Todd Olson and will begin rehearsals September 25, previews October 21-25, opening Friday, October 26, running two weeks, closing Sunday, November 4. A DOLL’S HOUSE by Henrik Ibsen will be directed by TBA, will begin rehearsals about October 23, previews November 14 and 15, opens Friday, November 16, and will run 6 weeks, closes Sunday, December 23. THE PIANO LESSON by August Wilson will be directed by Mark Southers, and will begin rehearsals about December 26, preview January 16 and 17, opens Friday, January 18, run 7weeks, and close Sunday, March 3. WHEN THE WORLD WAS GREEN (A CHEF’S FABLE) by Sam Shepard will be directed by TBA, will start rehearsals March 5, preview March 20 and 21, open Friday, March 22, and run 5 weeks, closing Sunday, April 21. No songs need be prepared for this open call; an open call for SPELLING BEE in the Park will take place at a later date. Non-Equity actors will be put on a waiting list and will be seen whenever there is no Equity Member auditioning or waiting. Audition slots will last five minutes. There may be callbacks at a later date. Please note, auditions will be Tuesday, March 27 and Wednesday, March 28 from 10-5. Auditions will take place at American Stage’s Raymond James Theatre, 163 3rd Ave. North, downtown St. Petersburg across from Williams Park. Auditions are by appointment and can be made by calling T.
