American Stage Special Events

Each year, American Stage puts on great parties!  These events are the perfect place to get to know us a little better, or enjoy the company of old friends as you all support the theatre and its many programs that benefit our community.  For more information about any of our special events and to get on our mailing list, contact Angela Bond, director of development at (727) 823-1600 ext. 203 or abond@americanstage.org.

American Stage’s Gala Under the Stars is held annually on the opening night of our American Stage in the Park production in Demens Landing Park.  The 2010 Gala, held April 23, was a huge success with over $100,000 raised for artistic and educational programming at American Stage.  For the first time in its 19-year history, Gala was sold out with nearly 600 people attending in all their tie-dye glory to see HAIR.

Next year’s Gala is Friday, April 15, 2011.  The festivities will begin at 6pm with wine, beer and hors d’oeuvres while guests peruse the silent auction, live auction and opportunity drawing items.  Then a gourmet dinner will be served and the live auction takes center stage.  After dessert, guests will settle back for a high-energy performance of RENT.  Stay tuned for ticket information.

American Stage’s Emerging Stars Showcase celebrates the accomplishments of our summer campers at the end of our 10-week summer theatre camp (see the Education page for more details on camp).  While guests enjoy a family friendly dinner, our campers perform highlights from each of the sessions, ending with a fun awards ceremony acknowledging all the accomplishments of our young thespians.   Stay tuned for details coming in Summer 2010.

American Stage’s Inner Circle Parties are a special “thank you” to our closest friends.  Held two to three times a year, these VIP cocktail parties provide an opportunity for our donors to see a sneak preview of an upcoming show and rub shoulders with the cast.  For an annual donation of at least $1,000, you, too, can join the Inner Circle!
