Reefer Madness!!!, based on the 1936 film, is a town hall meeting warning "Marijuana is Public Enemy #1!". Join Dr. Alfred Carroll and a troupe of actors as they reenact what happens when College Students get hooked on marijuana given to them by diabolical dope dealers: car accidents, manslaughter, suicide, rape, and descent into madness - REEFER MADNESS!!! Playing fifteen performances only, this limited engagement stars Katie Castonguay, Jan Ray, Michael Titone, and T. Scott Wooten as Dr. Alfred Carroll.
Reefer Madness!!! is produced by Economic Stimulus Productions. EcStim most recently brought the music of Tom Lehrer to Tampa Bay with two New York style cabarets. Independent Theatre can be a financial burden to produce, but thanks to The Economic Stimulus Act of 2008 signed into law by President George W. Bush, Producers Julie Rowe and T. Scott Wooten decided against buying plasma-screen-HD-television-sets and instead pooled their tax rebate checks together to produce live theatre. Economic Stimulus Productions is proud to be producing performance art fully funded by the United States Government. Thanks Mr. President!!!
Reefer Madness!!! will be performed on the following schedule: November 14 - 30; Tuesdays and Sundays at 7pm, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 10:30pm. Performances will take place at American Stage Theatre Company, tickets are "Pay-What-You-Can" for all performances. There will be a cash bar, $2-PBR, $1-Jello shots, and Doritos, Brownies, and Funyuns every night.
